JHB025 Applique Country Kids 5x7

This is a fun set where you can dress your little boys in your favourite fabrics.

It is very difficult to give you thread colours, as it all depends on your fabrics
you are going to use.

For all the boys I have used marathon thread number 1039 for their skin tones.
For the eyes I used black and white and for the rest of the facial features I used
marathon thread number 1022. For the freckles on some of the boys faces I used
marathon thread number 1132. The hair you can choose whatever color strikes your fancy.

Most of these designs are multiple applique, but each area works as follows:

whenever you get a applique area you will get a placement line to show you where to place your fabric, then you float your fabric over this line, stitch the next color, this is the securing line, some will be
zig-zag only, some will be a combination of zig-zag and tripple stitch. The tripple
stitch has been put in the place of the zig-zag as to reduce bulkiness for other stitches
or applique areas that is going to go over this. After you have stitched the securing line
remove your hoop from the machine BUT NOT THE DESIGN FROM THE HOOP. Cut away excess fabric
as close as possible to the securing line. Put your hoop back on the machine and continue with the design, Some of the desings will then stitch the
satin stitches immediately, others will do it at a later stage, all depending on the
sequance of events. THE IMPORTANT THING TO REMEMBER IS THAT THE THREAD COLOR FOR THE
PLACEMENT LINE AND THE SECURING LINE WILL BE THE SAME AS WHAT YOU ARE GOING TO USE
FOR YOUR SATIN STITCHES. Different colors has been put into the design so that your
machine can stop to allow you to float your fabric and to cut away the excess fabric.

At the end of the day it is important to remember that you should have fun with this set, I know I did whilst creating them.
